If you are seeing the message “Slider only available in stretch mode”, that means that in a prior (very old) version of JyotishTools Pro you selected “stretch mode” in the Settings. It seemed to stick around even it is no longer part of Settings and the drawing of the chart is dependant on how much space is given for it. Note that users who never had the older version of Pro won’t see this error.
This particularly occurs with the iPhone (Windows and iPad work differently). To my knowledge it does not occur on Android phones.
To temporarily fix it the old preference needs to be overwritten. To do this:
- Be sure to back up your charts (perhaps a good idea to do this anyway maybe once a week) by selecting Export Charts from Utilities in the menu.
- Uninstall and reinstall JyotishTools Pro (no you won’t be charged again for it). This will overwrite the preferences that had the “stretch” setting in it. Also you might want to make note of your settings (maybe a screen shot) since ones you like may need to be set again.
- Import your backed up charts.
That should take care of the problem. In an update I have made it gets rid of the message altogether and the transit slider should work as desired. Problem was that descriptions didn’t say it was the stretch mode warning but but that the slider didn’t work. That’s where you need to help me to help you. Especially on Apple’s OS version 26 with the new graphics the slider knob is a bit large compared to the Android or Windows version. Some users pressing down on it made the whole page move rather than the slider position.
The update would have been available by now except that Apple for some unknown reason decided to change the way that apps are published to the App Store. And the new way is buggy and has caused delays in updating the app on the AppStore.
